OPP Film and Brückner started El Salvador’s second BOPP line

Inauguration ceremony in the presence of the country’s president
“This was one of the highlights of OPP Film’s history”, says the company’s Technical Director, Erik Sosa. “We had the great honor of having El Salvador’s president, Salvador Sánchez Cerén, present when we celebrated the start of our new film production line. We are sure that this is a good sign for the future.”
In the opening ceremony, Yamal Zaidan, CEO of the Oben Holding Group, explained the importance of this investment to OPP Film´s guests. “This plant is unique in its kind in Central America and it will be servicing the growing demand of BOPP films in the Central America and the Caribbean regions. We are also able to offer better response times to the group´s customers in Mexico, USA and Canada.”
When OPP Film El Salvador S.A., a part of Peru’s Oben Holding Group, started Central America’s very first BOPP line in April this year, the region was no longer a blank area on the map of film production. The second line now completes the two-line-package. In total, the 8.7m wide lines will produce over 70,000 tons of various high-quality BOPP packaging films.
Finishing right on schedule, the project continues the long list of successful ventures between Oben Holding Group and Brückner Maschinenbau. The long-lasting partnership includes co-operations in all manufacturing plants in six different countries in South and Central America.
