The role of sustainable and recyclable packaging against food waste takes centre stage
Around a third of all food produced worldwide is lost. Packaging plays an important role in solving this problem. It helps to protect products from damage in transit, ensure safe delivery to consumers and extend shelf life. For some time now, another important aspect has been added: the circular economy. In this context, PP, PET or PE based mono-materials play a role, especially in solutions that also minimise food loss.
Simultaneously oriented films produced on a Brückner LISIM® line guarantee excellent film properties for various polymers in numerous packaging applications and diverse markets – and thus also contribute to the important areas of food protection and recyclability. Some trendy LISIM® applications, opening new business opportunities in packaging by focalizing on energy saving and circular material management:
In Brückner’s own technology center future LISIM® specialty films are in development together with partners along the value chain, e.g. BOPP lidding film with improved tear resistance or low shrink ultra-high barrier BOPP films for aseptic composite packaging.
Simultaneous lines stretch the film in both directions at the same time. Brückner’s LISIM® technology (Linear Motor Simultaneous Stretching) uses linear motors driving clips without any mechanical connections – that means a fast and flexible production (not least because of the variable stretching ratios in maschine direction) and at the same time less wear parts, low maintenance. Since 1998, several LISIM® production lines have been successfully in operation. The packaging applications manufactured on these lines convince by
